So, here is the thing. I’ve been on paleo’s diet for about a month, and I starting to feel something different and I don’t a good thing and definitely discomfort.
I haven’t gone to #2 in awhile. May be I go 2 or 3 times a week. As before, I went everyday or twice a day. I took fiber, oatmeal, prune juice and some medication and I’m still having a hard time.
I’m starting to lose my appetites on meat. and I’m not feeling it. Remember, I use eat meat maybe once a week. Basically I went cold turkey with paleo’s diet. I try to research on google on after effect, but they only have a good things to say.
So, did you hear anything like this before? Am I not doing somethin right?
I discussed with Paleo/Primal Long Island
and we came up with a couple of suggestions. But to assess the situation we first we need to find out more information so can better be equipped to answer the question; What was being eaten? Quality of the food? How much/ what types of meat was being ingesting? Carbs? Fats?
This should not be happening, you should be going to the bathroom once a day. Are you eating grass-fed meat? How much meat are you eating? Are you changing your protein meals up i.e. pasture raised chicken, wild fish, grass-fed? …Are you eating fruits; banana? Are you eating veggies (leafy greens) and good fats i.e. coconut oil, EVOO “Extra Virgin Olive Oil, avocado?
No junk food. No junk food no junkfood.
I am a salad girl. I eat salad for lunch and dinner with protein.See, that’s where I get confuse. It says no apple and bananna as fruit, because of high carb. No, I’m not eating grass fed meat, but I do buy organic chicken only. A lots fish and Salmon. I’ll look at the link you sent me.
From here response it seems that she needs a further information on Paleo, because there are so many different views on this matter a person starting out can be confused from all the information out there. What works for one person may not work on another depending on their needs, are they looking to lose weight vs. live & feel healthy?
From the emails it seems that she isn’t taking enough carbs (veggies) and good fats in which can contribute to why she isn’t going to the bathroom. As far as the fruits, unless your doing the 30day challenge and your goal is too lose weight fruits are fine, berries are the best options. Bananas are great post/pre workout food. The key component of Paleo is “quality” meaning the kind of food your ingesting, However, eating free range vs. pasture raised free range chicken is better than eating regular chicken. In the beginning you must first understanding what Paleo is and how to eat, once you have the basics down and know what can and cannot consumed then you should take it to the next step. The next step is buying Grass-fed Meat, Pasture raised chicken, wild fish, organic fruits & vegetables and good fats (avocado, nuts, coconut oil, EVOO (extra virgin olive oil) etc… It’s very important to have Protein, Carbs & Fats in all 3 of your meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) in order to go to the bathroom and to feel & be your best!
Mark Sission states that when It Comes to Butts, Fat is King! Aim for 6-12 servings of veggies and 1-2 servings of fruit. There is no good reason to overdo fiber. Excessive fiber intake can increase appetite and interfere with healthy digestion, mineral absorption, and elimination. Interestingly, what many folks don’t realize is that increasing fat intake can help with constipation and regular bowels. Try eating more olive oil, fish, avocados, nuts, and flax seeds. Buy DHA-enhanced eggs. And take two or three fish oil pills daily. We promise, it’ll help. And cut out that blasted soda!
Happy Trailing :o)
